The Division 2: Every Exotic and How to Get Them! (2024 Edition)

At the time of writing this post there are 50 exotics in The Division 2 that you are able to farm for and add to your arsenal. In the video below I give you gameplay of each and every exotic while giving you some information on each of them and what they do. Most exotics in The Division 2 will drop from Targeted Loot or Exotic Caches.

You will find a checklist that explains how to get each of these exotics and you can use this to check them off as you go. Some exotics require additional information so you can find that in the video or the additional notes after the checkllist.

Additional Notes

• Since Year 6 on The Division 2, all exotics are now available to all players even if you do not own the expansion
• Countdown is the best way to farm for any exotic that you can find through targeted loot, you can also spend Countdown currency on Exotic Caches from the Countdown vendor
• Farming with friends can be the best way to obtain any exotic because friends can share with you! They can even share exotics out of some exotic caches that are earned as a reward, this is the case with the Weekly SHD Requisition Cache.
  
• If friends already have any of the exotics that require you to complete a project, they can farm them through targeted loot and then share them with you so you do not need to complete the project. 
• Most exotic weapons come with reconfiguration blueprints. This allows you to upgrade exotics to the maximum level if you get any at a lower level, but also they randomize the third attribute once crafted. This means you can re-roll your exotic weapons until you get on with your prefered role (which many people prefer Damage to Targets Out of Cover).

The Chatterbox Exotic SMG

The easiest way to get the Chatterbox exotic SMG is to have a friend who already has it farm with you and share it with you. If you are unable to do this then you must complete the quest!

The Chatterbox quest can be quite a grind. You need to find parts across three areas of the DC map. These parts have a chance of dropping out of Hyena Faction boxes. Search these faction boxes in each of the areas listed to find the parts;

• Downtown East: Loaded Canister
• Federal Triangle: Creative Mag
• Judiciary Square: Modified Mods

Once you have all of the parts you can them head to the Bank Headquarters mission. After you face the first named boss of the mission there is a secret key to find before you head down the elavator shaft (The key is far left of the elavator's hidden in a wall panel)

With this key you are able to open a door as soon as you enter the vault which is to the left. Inside here will be another Hyena Faction Box that will drop the Chatterbox blueprint providing that all the parts have been found. You will now be able to craft the Chatterbox.

(Note that once you have the Catterbox it can drop in exotic caches and targeted loot)

The Nemesis Exotic Marksman Rifle

The easiest way to get the Nemesis is to have a friend who already has it farm with you and share it with you. If you are unable to do this then you must complete the quest!

The Nemesis quest is quite the grind and it starts when you are first able to play the "Tidal Basin" stronghold. On this mission once you have destroyed the first set of defences, you will be instructed to patch ISAC into a laptop. In this building and there will be a key upstairs to collect, it will also appear on your radar so make sure this is collected before you continue.

Later on in the mission you will get on board a Black Tusk Hovercraft. Inside will be a lot of enemies to clear out and once cleared you will find a door with a keypad up top before you head on with the mission. As long as you grabbed that key earlier the keypad will be green and you will be able to open the door. 

Inside is a chest that will drop a Adrestia SR-1 and you need to make sure that you dismantle this to start your Nemesis quest. You will recieve the Marksman Rifle: Scope componant.

Now you have the first componant you still need three more and a Nemesis Blueprint. This is where you will find them;

• Marksman Rifle: Barrel (Beat the Capitol Building Invaded Stronghold)
• Marksman Rifle: Bolt (Beat the Roosevelt Island Invaded Stronghold)
• Marksman Rifle: Stock (Beat the District Union Arena Invaded Stronghold)
• Nemesis Blueprint (Beat the first named enemy at the start of Grand Washington Hotel Invaded)

As easy as it sounds this can be tricky. Invaded missions are reset every Tuesday and there is no guarentee what missions you will get. You will need to be patient and wait for them to pop up but you can get all parts and the blueprint in any order. Once you have all of the parts your will be able to craft the Nemesis.

The Liberty Exotic Sidearm

The easiest way to get the Liberty exotic sidearm is to have a friend who already has it to farm with you and share it with you. If you are unable to do this then you must complete the quest!

The Liberty quest will start before you even reach endgame. You must reach level 30 and then take on the Captiol Building stronghold. Towards the end of the stronghold a named enemy will drop the Pistol: Trigger & Mechanism after you kill them. 

Once you have finished the main story and unlocked the ability to play missions on higher difficulties you must then complete these missions on hard or above to obtain the rest of the pieces;

• American History Museum: Pistol: Receiver & Paint Job
• Viewpoint Museum: Pistol: Sight & Rail
• Space Administration HQ: Pistol: Grip & Tags

The Kendra's Liberty Blueprint will also drop automatically once you have all the parts but you are not done! When you head to the crafting table you will notice that you also need a D50 sidearm to craft the Liberty so you will need to also farm for one of these if you do not have one.

(Note that once you have the Liberty it can drop in exotric caches and targeted loot)

Dodge City Gunslinger's Exotic Holster

The easiest way to get the Dodge City Gunslinger's Holster is to have a friend who already has it to farm with you and share it with you. If you are unable to do this then you must complete the quest!

Once you have reached endgame on The Division 2 you will have an exotic project available to purchase from Inaya at the crafting station inside the White House. Once you have purcased this project you just need to complete this steps;

• Take over the Riverside Gas Station at any difficulty level. You will find the Fast Leather Belt in the control point cache
• Now you need the Ornate Leather Holster, Inverted Leather Holster, and Oiled Hammer Guards. You can get these from completing a Hyena Level 4 control point, an Outcast level 4 control point, and a True Sons level 4 control point. Just set your world difficulty to Heroic and all control points will be level 4 and you can see which faction a control point is by hovering over them on a map. If done right the last named enemy of each control point will wear a cowboy hat and the coponant will drop from the control point stash
• With the above all done there will be another project to buy from Inaya at the White House
• Your next task is to obtain the Holster: Rind component which can only be done at the location in the below image. You have to show up just after 12PM in game though for the enemies to spawn inside of the building here. You can check the in-game time in your menu or in photo mode. Just wait down the road until the time reaches 12PM and the head to the building where there will be Black Tusks and one will have a cowboy hat on. You will get the part once you defeat them. 

With all parts collected you can just head back to the white house and hand the project in. You will be rewarded with all of the parts needed to craft the Dodge City Gunslinger's Holster, including the blueprint. You will also need a Providence and Petrov holster to craft it.

(Note that once you have the Dodge City Gunslinger's Holster it can drop in exotic caches and targeted loot)

Ridgeway's Pride Exotic Chest Piece

The easiest way to get the Ridgeway's Pride exotic chest is to have a friend who already has it to farm with you and share it with you. If you are unable to do this then you must complete the quest!

Once you have reached engame in The Division 2 you will get access to the Summit game mode. This is where you will spend a lot of time on step one of this task. You are required to find five different exotic parts through the Summit and they can be found in certain loot boxes that require the Summit Access Keys to open. These loot boxes appear every three floors and the Summit Access Key to open it will always be hidden on one the three floors leading up to it. These are the five items that have a chance of dropping from these loot boxes and what floors they can drop;

• Floors 1-20 | Vest: Normal Body Armor
• Floors 21-40 | Vest: Hard Shoulder Pads
• Floors 41-60 | Vest: Challenging Hunting Knife
• Floors 61-80 | Vest: Heroic Flag Patch
• Floors 81-100 | Vest: Legendary Dog Tags

Once you have all five of these parts you must then go on to complete floor 100 and extract. This will reward you with a project that you can now move onto. This project requires you to;

• Donate a weapon with the Sadist Talent
• Donate a gear piece with the Perfectly Unbreakable talent
• Donate an exotic component

Once you have completed the above project you will get one more project! This is the final part that is needed to get the Ridgeway's Pride exotic chest piece and this is what you must do;

• Neutralize 3 named Hyenas and donate 3 Hyena Keys
• Neutralize 3 named True Sons and donate 3 True Sons Keys
• Neutralize 3 named Outcasts and donate 3 Outcasts Keys
• Neutralize 3 named Cleaners and donate 3 Cleaner Keys
• Neutralize 3 named Rikers
• Donate 3 Black Tusk Keys
• Neutralize 2 Rogue Agents
• Neutralize 2 Hunters

With all of that complete and handed in you will recieve all of the parts needed to craft the Ridgeway's Pride exotic chest piece at the crafting station. 

(Note that once you have the Ridgeway's Pride chest it can drop in exotic caches and targeted loot)
